Here's the chat from the session for you to refer to, lots of great feedback! 09:03:55 Katie McLaughlin : For quick access to join our email list — join us here: http://bit.ly/1MCSeattle 09:11:03 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : WOW!!! 09:11:21 Ali Azami : I 2nd the WOW!! 09:11:42 Leif Dyrsten : Flyover states indeed 09:14:19 jolene : YES, YES, YES - Trying to learn C is sooo boring 09:16:13 jolene : THIS IS AMAZING! 09:16:25 Katie McLaughlin : Agreed! Amazing! 09:19:43 1MC Host : Connect with Chris! helloartnow@gmail.com https://artnowcoding.com Facebook https://www.facebook.com/artnowpage https://twitter.com/ArtNOW___ 09:23:45 jolene : I just surveyed potential customers and was surprised that many think that my product would cost more than what I was going to charge. Surveys are a good way to find that. 09:24:11 Katie McLaughlin : Still in beta — he’s launching an online course in the winter 09:26:07 Katie McLaughlin : Ooo great question, Ben! 09:27:29 jolene : I need this for my new website 09:28:14 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : read this book, The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowics 09:29:20 jolene : People are expecting more and more interactive or dynamic websites and I think this is a huge for web/graphic designer. 09:30:35 jolene : But I’m trying to learn to code right now and what you are talking about is me. I’m stuck because the basic learning is so cryptic and the end product is not exciting. I am a self taught photoshop user and I would love to learn more about coding while upping my photoshop game 09:32:01 Katie McLaughlin : Ideas to piggy back onto your ask about — how to make it clear — consider the outcomes or the value your provide and the pain you solve. Example for a graphic artist you could ask questions like: are you trying to find a new edge to differentiate yourself in the field of artists? Do you need to take less time to produce even more unique designs for your clients? 09:32:05 Leif Dyrsten : Another Idea: Have a section on your website with Graduates of your program so that people who are looking for this kind of work for their website etc. can find artists. 09:32:43 1MC Host : ^love that idea! 09:32:51 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : Yes @Katie and @Leif 09:34:20 Ali Azami : great presentation.... nice meeting you all... Hope to see you all soon. 09:36:51 Tessa Hawkins : No, but I want to be all of those things 09:38:35 Anna Choi : Parents are DESPERATE and will pay for them. :D Lots of tech parents out there with lots of money. :D 09:38:55 Eric Zuckerman : For kids, Swift (on iPad/Mac) or Blockly are great coding experiences for kids. 09:40:04 Eric Zuckerman : Pre-requisites!! 09:40:35 Eric Zuckerman : I can help you create your student learning outcomes, since I did that at my former job. 09:43:45 Anna Choi : Potential future niche are tech parents: I’m an art major turned entrepreneur for 10 years as a business coach, and my husband is a software engineer—we were paying $1200/mon for private school and now homeschooling with lots of budget now available for whatever school resources. And just paid $800 for an online private school social studies course for a semester—and anything that would help with real life skills, that’s engaging would be awesome we would want to invest in. Super untapped market!! 09:44:03 Katie McLaughlin : Great point on focus on getting a small amount of people to start — then you can make sure your methods work! 09:45:06 jolene : I agree with Anna. I have a 9 year old that love Scratch but is ready to learn something different. 09:45:14 Katie McLaughlin : I would say create a great product that WORKS and you an PROVE and THEN focus on scaling. 09:45:41 jolene : I agree with Katie - prove your basic awesome product and then scale 09:45:50 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : Money is important. It funds your life. 09:46:20 Anna Choi : Yes to everyone. Prove it first with PAYING beta testers to prove it works than scale. 09:48:28 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : Do the KIND Thing: Think Boundlessly, Work Purposefully, Live Passionately Hardcover – March 31, 2015 by Daniel Lubetzky 09:48:41 Katie McLaughlin : Are you loving our conversation and energy today? Mark your calendars for every week at 9am! Join our email list to get updates and reminders each week: http://bit.ly/1MCSeattle 09:49:12 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie The story of Toms Shoes 09:51:37 Eric Zuckerman : Simplest for you is to have specific weekly office hours, as Leif said. 09:51:55 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : What about adding those beginner courses like photoshop, as a place to start for those of us who have zero experience? 09:52:08 Valerie Moseley : Chris - can you give us a link to your YouTube channel? 09:52:50 Eric Zuckerman : Maybe you can create a simple and inexpensive pre-requisite course. Allow students who finish the pre-req work a discount on Art Now. 09:53:01 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : ...then going to you're advanced courses. 09:56:21 Leif Dyrsten to 1MC Host(Privately) : Are we doing breakout rooms do you think? It might have gone too long 09:57:05 Eric Zuckerman : In my experience, students learn a ton by attempting to answer questions. Try to create a community of students trying to answer the questions on your discussion board. You can chime in when the answers are not complete or need deeper answers. 09:58:29 Tessa Hawkins : I am happy to help be a Customer Avatar test for you - hello@altlearnative.com 09:59:15 Eric Zuckerman : I have construction happening in my place. Will not be in breakout rooms due to noise. Great job Chris and have a great day everybody!! 10:00:40 Art the Artist Abdon : I'm interested to help as a customer... art.the.artist7@gmail.com 10:06:56 Ben - IG @beaniesleeper : I would love to connect.
